I am looking for a quality drip coffee maker. I got a free one from gevalia, it only lasted 3 months. I did everything the directions said to do. I am not sure what went wrong. I need a new one and I want a quality one. I have looked at Macys, target, dillards, bed bath and beyond. I have read reviews, some just seem like people got a lemon or really couldn’t state an actual problem. I am willing to spend 100. 00 if its good quality. Please any opinion or review of current coffee maker would help.

Can I use a pyrex cup in place of a carafe in my coffee maker?

I know that you can’t use pyrex on the stovetop, but the carafe on my coffeemaker broke and I’ve found it it would cost me more to replace it than I originally paid for the coffee maker (which I got just a month ago). I was thinking of getting a pyrex measuring cup- which would only cost me a couple bucks. I just don’t know if the hot plate part of the warmer gets so hot that it would shatter the pyrex or something.
